Katherine Heigl admits her childhood in a white bubble and how that influenced the way she raised adopted, multiracial children. In an interview with her, Katherine Heigl said in the past that in terms of skin colour there is no difference. However, after talking to her adopted sister by South Korea she realized just the way society views them. "I inquired of my sister, Meg to tell me if she'd been treated in one manner while walking around with our parents, and another way when she went out by herself without them. She replied "Oh, yes, every occasion!" Heigl told her parents it made her realize just the extent of her ignorance. She admitted that she was frustrated, but she felt it was necessary to use her anger to help her children. Heigl has a four-year old son and a 13-year-old wife, Josh Kelley. They adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea aged 12 in 2009, then Adalaide who was 8 years old and is Black in 2012.
