Laura Linney was one of the best American actors to emerge from the past. Her savacious and vulnerable roles have made her a household famous. Her mother was a single, unmarried mother who was a nurse. Her interest in the theatre during holidays by her famous father. She studied acting in Brown University, and later at Juilliard School. Her career began on Broadway shortly after her graduation, she appeared in film within two years, and then on television in the year after. In the years since she's been in many TV productions, films and stage plays. She's been nominated for three Tony Awards, three Academy Awards, five Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), as well as received numerous awards over her career. She has been nominated for five Tony Awards, and three Academy Award nominations. But, in spite of her recognitions and awards, theatre is still her passion and she will continue to act on both screen and stage.
