Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej and is now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 during an Olympic event. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was six years old. In 1969, she participated in the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. She was awarded the championship in 1970. She took home three golds at her first competition in a junior pre-Olympic meeting in 1972 for communist-controlled countries. In 1973 and 1974, she became the junior all-around champion. In addition, she won four gold and one silver in her first international competition for seniors that took place in 1975. This was her first time she participated as a senior. In 1976, she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympics and became the first woman ever to remove the parallel bars by using double backwards salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her path into the world of entertainment began in her teens when she started skating figure along with her cousin Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th September 1942 at Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her professional career as an entertainer in her teens. She made her debut as a model skater with her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show known as Ice Capades. These were shows that featured ice skating performance that was accompanied by theatrical music.
